It seems to me that Zarn is well within his rights to appoint a replacement for you during your absence.

He is not appointing a replacement, he is appointing someone to take over. I don't think it specifies in the constitution who has authority during leaves of absences.

EDIT: I checked and the constitution specifies nothing about leaves of absence. Therefore this is a new situation, and I feel that since nothing is specified, I should have the authority to pick who I want to fill my position.

Both are replacements, Goonie. I think both boots and CG would know to step down if the origional ambassador came back. We can't just be ambassadorless (I know it is not a word) and wait for you guys to come back. This is even more true given the current circumstances.

In the event the culture, trade, or any Ambassador position becomes vacant, the Foreign Affairs Leader shall appoint a new leader to fill the vacant position.

You couldn't find that. You are leaving, so the spot is vacant for that duration.

It is not vacant since I am still ambassador. I saw that perfectly well. As I said, there is nothing in the constitution about leaves of absences.

EDIT - I have no problem with you picking, but could you at least open it up to other people instead of just throwing it to Boots.

Just throwing it to boots? Do you have a problem with him? Or me? I'm seriously asking. I can't open it up, because we need an ambassador there, ASAP. We don't have the time to ask everyone.

Personally, I would interpret "vacant" as including "leaves of absence", considering that the position will be vacant for a period of time, but that's just me...

Zarn I am not mad at either. I did not see a process where someone could sign up. Thats what I meant about throwing it to Boots. Where did boots sign up? How could others have done the same? I think you and boots are great, but the demogame is about everyone having a fair shot. That is the only objection I have. It is nothing personal. All that was needed was "Goonie will be needing someone to fill his duties starting friday morning. This is where you sign up. 24 hours until I make my decision." Something like that would have given everyone a chance.
