A friend of mine emailed me a couple of animated gifs, and I'd like to download them from my account and save the files. However, I am unsure how to properly save an animated gif. In the email, it is not an attachment, but rather an embedded picture. Is there any freeware tool that would allow me to download and view a animated gifs?
What email client are you using? If it's web-based, you should be able to save it the same way you do any other pic on the net. Right click, save as. Make sure you keep the .gif extension.
As for using something like Outlook, OE, or Eudora, try right clicking on the image and seeing if it gives you a save option.
