annexing puppets problems 9.14beta

I start a new game with almost every update. Thank you.

I notice that in beta 9.14 courthouse are being built by puppets sometimes. I actually like this and wish they would all do this as my goal in a cash economy is to annex asap. Why remove it?

I also liked the feature where I could cash build courthouses in your mod. I noticed I couldn't do this in about 40% annexed puppets that were well past rebellion. They required the terdious courthouse buildtime.

The other problem I ran into the for the first time in 9.14 as rome is that annexed puppet states still autobuild. I can't turn it off. The pump out settlers and workers even though I have no room and tons of workers. I have to check and override it every turn.

I made an evil grin when I saw a puppet building a courthouse too, but you have to admit it makes it too easy.

The penalty for conquering a city is having to wait for resistance to die down to build a courthouse.

You should always be able to buy a courthouse once resistance ends.

I've never encountered an annexed city ever auto-building units. Do you have it set for any auto functions?
 
Puppets building courthouses would be too much of a change to introduce in this mod, and is not intended. I believe the bug was fixed in v.16. If you still encounter issues where puppets are building courthouses in v.16 or later, please post again.

They're building it almost every time in my current v.16 game.
 
Same issue for me...every city I captured build a courthouse on their own. To make matters worse, once I annex these cities - the AI builds random projects at will. i.e. city starts to produce cannon, I stop it and force it to build gold. Next turn, the city is building the cannon again. If I am constructing a building rather than gold, it will finish the building but then return to making whatever it pleases afterwards.
 
Please attach a zip including your mods, moduserdata, and cache folders, plus a savegame of where they're building a courthouse. This will help me track down the problem. :)
 
Hi Thal,

I've uploaded the files you've requested. In the current saved game I have 2 annexed cities (Rome and Honolulu). They've already build their courthouses but you can reproduce the bug I previously mentioned. Just go to Rome and change production to Gold and then hit next turn...you'll see that Rome switches back to whatever it pleases to build.
