Got a rather annoying problem with my mouse crouser in the game.
its like blinking/flickering or how i'm gonna explain it, and it very annoying having it around. Doesn't really affect my gaming but would like to get some idea how to fix it. I had something similiar with AOE3 but it was just enough to restart the game to fix it but it didn't workt with civ4

got the newest Ati drives(removed them with driver cleaner and made a "fresh" install). Tried the newest patch nothing changed.

Specs:

ABIT AN7
Amd athlon xp 3200+
Ati Radeon 9700 Pro
1024 mb DDR (PC 3200 ram)

and the mouse is a Logitech Mx 510 (got the newest drivers)

if there's something else you'd like to know to be able to help me just say so.

thanks in advance

In that case try moving it down a notch and try the game again

well it got little better, the square around the cursor dissapeared but its still blinking/flickering.

Tried to move it down another notch, but nothing changed.

Try changing the refrsesh rate to 60hz

click start, run, dxdiag, click on more help, overide, and type 60 into the box. click ok and then exit and try game

This'll sound nuts, but ...

Couple of people discovered that they had mouse trails turned on inside the driver, even though they could not see the trail - it was set to minimum, but nonetheless still on so active in memory. Turning that off solved it.

Long shot - but worth a go, quick and simple to check.

There have been a couple of mouse bug posts over in the Bug Forum, maybe worth checking there, if your problem is the same ...

I also had this mouse pointer, cursor blick, flicker problem. And for it helpt to turn up the hardware acceleration and to trun OFF the shade of the mouse pointer!
Thanks for the tips! :goodjob:
