Annoying Sound

Recently I've noticed that sometimes I open up a thread, there will be some music that starts playing and then some redneck fellow says: "Hi, I'm debt free." or something on those lines. It is extremely annoying.

I would have PMed a moderator on this, but I can't tell who it is that has this in their signature or avatar or whatnot.

Are we allowed to have a sound file in our signature or avatar? If so, could I motion to have them not allowed? It is very annoying when you're listening to music or something at a moderate volume and then the sound starts at a louder volume than the music.

Or is it an advertisement or something else that I'm hearing on this site?

Or perhaps I'm the only one who has experienced this and I'm just going schizophrenic...

That sounds like an ad; there's a lot of "get out of debt" spam at the moment. I've noticed.

I've not had that but I do seem to be getting pop-ups for some kind of online dating service on the forums.
I'd post the URL but that is probably a no-no for site rules.

Sound, one of the best ways to keep travelers off your site when if serves no real purpose. I specially like the ones that run old polkas (like 'chicken dance').

The most frequent reason that it sound is put on a site? "I can do it."

That wont be happening anymore I'm afraid. Harder classes = more homework and no study period. Plus baseball in March-June will be time consuming.

This is why, in the lower-right hand corner, there is something that has a sound sort of device, that, if clicked once, can be muted.

Hmm...I've never had this problem before. Maybe because the sound is turned off 90% of the time. And because the radio is much louder than my speakers.

I've gotten the "Debt Free" ad a couple times when i was on the forums. The first time it sacred me half to death cause i thought someone hacked my computer . It would be great for that ad to be removed.
