Another awful glitch

Although i understand that some people might be annoyed by these, for me it's really unimportant. It's not game braking in the sense that you can't avoid it. It's like the pantheon bug: its really easy to not do it. The AI doesn't do it, in multiplayer obviously if you do it you will be labelled as a cheater. So it's a fun quirky thing but it really does not affect my general experience with the game. And it makes for some funny videos from Marbo or the spiffing brit - we wouldn't want to miss that wouldn't we?

One day in a multiplayer game where players start at separate continents I saw a person teching much quicker than me, sth. like 200+ science and culture per turn at T60. I just surrounded and quitted the game. It is hard for me to get that numbers in MP with any Civs.

Maybe he is using this.

Saw the YT video as well. It kind of amazes me how CIV VI still has these major glitches. Hopefully Firaxis has seen it as well and comes with an update soon.

Every program has a glitches and bugs, you do understand right? It's easy to pin point a flaw and go with that, another thing to realise how common these are.

This isn't a "Day 1" bug, we only recently found this out which means it's not an obvious glitch.

I can also understand that there was just a minor overlook with the Pantheon bug too because of the UI's re-design.

It could be far worse, like in other games that come out with more bugs than they fix (like Sims 4).

you do understand right
I used to be a software engineer and have been working in IT for over two decades, so yeah I do understand how it works. I just think that companies like Firaxis, and basically every company that makes software, should take more pride in the products they have already released and make using them as 'comfortable' as possible for the people using them everyday. As it is, the majority of time is invested in new features and new products. I've known a lot of companies that never make their 'ten year' anniversary just because they failed to understand that people need maintenance on the products they already have as much (or even more) than they need new features and new products. This 'exploit' is a fun one to do a video on, but there are so many small AI and UI fixes that could be made in CIV VI that seem to just be 'left alone'.

It could be far worse
It always can. ;)

I've seen in some cpl games around 120-150 sci or cult per turn, it's not that rare but it's on pangea maps and lot of friendly tradings. In 60 turns you have to build both comm/harbors districts and campuses/universities and maybe a science cs allied too.

So both over 200 in 60 turns? nah it's impossible.
