I see a lot of threads, where people advice to lower the anit-aliasing level to 0 in order to improve performance. However in my case the 0 level is the only one available. I cannot really figure out what is wrong and why anti-aliasing is not supported.

I have the latest patch 1.52 installed and run on XP-SP2 with ATI Mobility RAdeon 7500, Pentium M 1.6GHz. The only logical explanation I can come up with is that my Video does not allow anti-aliasing.

Is there any other setting or configuration file to change?

Is there no advance setting for your video card through the 'Display' control panel? Turning off AA in that helps no end, more so with the movies. I would have thought the nearly all cards support some degree of AA these days.

Well, I tried this. If I force all apps to use anti-aliasing, the Civ4 video plays very slowing and it is droping a lot of frames. However if i set it to "application preference" everything seems fine.

However in both cases the anti-aliasing level in the Game - Graphics options is still 0 and no other options are available.
