ants in laptop

Please explain this to my MX440, my laptop HDD and my soundblaster sound card.

You've tested 3 units. My department has done hundreds, if not thousands in the last year alone. Very few have been badly damaged, but it does happen. I would not risk it on my equipment.
 
Also a sound card probably has less space for water to collect then a laptop.
Let them be. They are cleaning it for you!

Ants have been known to cause damage to electronic devices. Most likely they're after food, but they have been known to be attracted to electronics. And if they're in a laptop, I'd get them out soon, before they find a random current pulse that feels like something else.
 
That is different than deliberately freezing your computer. Stick a laptop in the freezer overnight and let us know what happens.
