It would be strange to expect Aspyr would fix gameplay bugs. And it would also be strange if Firaxis would do patches for mac that aren't released for their main audience. Don't you agree?
I agree with you, but you misunderstand my point. I never said that Aspyr should fix anything. I do know they don't do that. However, they do talk often about quality in their porting and by releasing something that they do know it's filled with bugs, they just perpetuate what Firaxis does to all of us lovers of the game: give us a downgrade in quality. But that's the deal between both companies and, although I do feel that AspyrWoo and AspyrBlair don't like the fact that they have to port it as is, by their posts on the Steam Forum, it is what it is because it is really not Aspyr`s game and I'm sure that is their contract.
And, in my previous post, by we, I meant all of us Civ VI players regardless of our platform preference, not only Mac users, deserved a hot fix. We all deserve to get way less bugs in patches, but it seems that is unheard of.
And I never expected Firaxis to side with us Mac users. It is perfectly clear we are not their main audience. Crystal clear. But, at least they are democratic in that they DO release buggy patches to all equally. (I'll give them that and also give them props for announcing the release of two extra DLC's for Digital Deluxe Edition customers.) We, Mac users, just get it later after hearing all the complaints from the main audience. But this is no regular patch. Look at those modders who have had a hard time updating or those (i.e. CQUI) who have not been able to update their mods because they find serious issues in this latest patch. I know you have seen many, many people complain in this very site and that doesn't include those who jumped the gun and complained when they hadn't disabled old mods.
In the end, my frustration is that you and I, we all are not treated with the respect we deserve, not only because we paid for something and expect to get what we paid for (Cross-platform, comes to mind), but because there are hundreds of thousands of us who have been loyal for many years and love the idea of Civ games. At the very least, Firaxis should acknowledge their mistakes publicly and apologize. That shows respect and respect is a two-way street.
