any Sci-Fi/futuristic/space mods?

I'm just curious here, what Sci-FI/Futuristic/space mods are there? because in Civ 2 and 3, I really liked the futuristic or space type mods/scenarios. I know theres that Star Wars mod, but what else?

I know its possible for a mod to change terrain (such as the Blue Marble mod), so is it possible to create something that would resemble interstellar space or an alien planet?

Check out the thread by Neomega on Pentagenisis. Its a sci-fi mod that he made for Civ3 and started talking about remaking for Civ4. Sadly, he hasn't been around for a few weeks though. I hope he comes back, it looked to have quite a bit to potential.

The Song of the Moon modpack is pretty cool, you might want to check that out. Takes place on the moon.

cool. also, is there a mod with alien races and stuff, other than the star wars mod?

You might want to check out our SMAC remix, a takeoff on Sid Meir's Alpha Centauri (the bridge between Civs 2 & 3), linked to in my sig. It will be less "science" than Moon Mod, but arguably less "fiction" than the fantasy mods. We are in the process of modding terrain, but what the SMAC players found early on is too alien and you get eyestrain for some reason. We're always looking for creative input so we encourage you to sign up.

I was trying to make a space-mod, but I think i'm giving up. Its easy to edit in the planets, but funny things happen if you just try and add them
