Any word on preloading?

Since I'm wagering on it being a pretty good-sized file, and I'd like to begin playing as soon as possible once it's out, has there been any indication whether it will be available for download beforehand?

Yes. They replied on Twitter and said they were going to allow it and we're going to release details down the road.

Yes, just today, on their Facebook page, they also answered this question with: "Very soon, we'll be sharing details on preload and unlock times." I´m guessing the "very soon" would be most likely Monday. Wednesday would be too late, I think.

I asked my keyseller and they responded they already got the keys in their database waiting for 2k to free the preload... And that it should be soon...

you'll have to keep checking your Civ 6 game page until there's a "preload" button where it normally says "install" on your uninstalled games

My steam store page says it's available 22nd October. Some sources cite 21st October. Perhaps a time zone thing. I'm at GMT+8. Anyone else showing 22nd October? I'm seriously praying that it doesn't unlock for me at night on the 22nd because that'd be half the weekend gone...

I'm getting 'unlock in approximately 5 days,' which is steam language for some sort of midnight release on the 20th (well, 00:00 on the 21st). Probably eastern or pacific (US) time, but could also be region based unlocks.

If it's saying 22nd for east asia, that suggests region based to me. As even midnight pacific is 15 hours (eastern is 12 hours), not enough for a full day difference.

I just checked again for the approximate days message and now it says "Available: 21 October. This game will unlock in approximately 4 days."

So between 22 minutes ago and now, I crossed the 96 hour line. Or I miraculously caught them setting up for the final release time?

Monday seems too soon. I'd say Wednesday or Tuesday at the earliest.

No, I'm a bit concerned cause things I have ordered that don't come out till November/December have date estimates but the Civ 6 collectors edition still doesn't.

Used to say 22nd here too (GMT+9), definitely a timezone thing.

Now says 21st, while for others (previous replies in this thread) says 20th. Did they decide to release 1 day earlier?
