I had not played CIV4 for long time(about 2 years). Several days earlier, i found that there was new update patch1.74. So i am exited, and download it immediately.
unfortunately, when i finnished updating, i could not enter the game with display problem. the detailed was as following:
when i started CIV4, it told me that could not find d3dx9_32.dll. so i find one in the internet and download it, copy to system32 folder. Launched CIV4 again, but it still could not work. It did not display "could not find d3dx9_32.dll" more but an error showed that windows display problem. (I had not copy the screen.) So i began to search for Geoforce 6600 new driver file, downloaded, and installed at once. I launched the game again, it was still the same error displayed.
So i tried to uninstall the 1.74patch, and use 1.61patch instead. Lauched the game, it worked well.
I don't know why there was this problem. is there anyone can help me to solve the problem?
Anyway, my PC is 1G RAM, 2.4GCPU, 256Mdisplay RAM for Geoforce 6600.
Any Expert can help me on this? or just tell me what to try to do next. i will try and let you know the result.
