As you've probably heard, I like the formulae for all the mathematical things in CIVII. What I would like to know, is does anyone know the formula for rush-building? When you buy the amount of shields left? What is the formula for the cost?

Anyone able to help?

well rounding things off abit its 4 gold per sheild from scratch or 2.5 gold per with some sheilds allready.

One time would be if you are rushing caravans.Say you produce 5 sheilds.First turn buy the last 5 of a warrior switch back.Turn 2 buy the 5 sheilds of a 20 sheild unit.etc.

Another is when you produce 7 sheilds for caravans. After 4 turns you have 28-22 left.3x7=21..4 turns left.Buy 2 with a dip or archer and you save 1 turn.

Anytime you need something straight away.

Doesn't work on improvements.Sheilds are always 4 gold no matter what.

What I remember is....

Rush buying (RB):
Wonder from scratch is 8 gold per shield.
City Improvement from scratch is 4 gold per shield.
Units from scratch ranges between 5 and 20 gold per shield.

Partial Rush buying (PRB):
Wonders are 4 gold per shield remaining
City Improvements are 2 gold per shield remaining
Units range from 2 to 10 gold per shield remaining

IIRC, the last 4 shields to complete a unit are 2 gold each and it goes up from there. The less shileds required for the unit, the less gold per shield it will be. But, it is incremental. The last 4 are always 2 gold per, the next 4(?) are 2.5(?) gold per, and so on.
