Hey, I have had NOTHING but problems with Civ4 and I was wondering if anyone knows of anyway to get a refund from Fraxis or otherwise. I cannot believe how much of my time I have wasted to just have my games crash or some other bug ruin my game. You can't seem to access the "autosave" and I have lost 3 games to date and can't take anymore. I should have known better after Civ3 failed to deliver and I will not buy anymore of these products.

I don't know of anyone willing to give a refund on opened software. Your best bet, if you're giving up on the game completely, is probably your local gamestop or ebay.

Hmm, it runs 100% stable on three different machines for me. You probably have some sort of problem with your computer. If you want to return the game, though, your best bet is the store where you bought it. Depending on when you bought it and the quality of your service they might take it back.

I assume you tried downloading the patch, but if you haven't, why not download it and give the game another try?

NightC, given your posting history, the odds of you actually coming back to read a thread you posted to are nearly nil. Of your 6 posts, all but 1 have been thread-starters.

When responded to with possible technical support help on your crash, you never responded with any results or evidence you tried it.

Your crashes seem to be linked to installing the Total Realism mod -- this is not a mod written by the people who made Civ4, but rather a modification written by random volunteers. Modifications, especially complex ones, tend to be less stable.

Are you having stability problems with your base, fully patched, install?
