Regia Civitas will complete the Temple in one turn. That will relieve Elvis, who can work the ocean for the few turns it takes to build the Road ... or work Grassland Shield? Grow in about 16 turns, but we will have Mysticism by then, so seems no problem. Of course, we could loose our 1 Content at any time...

Then what shall we build in Regia Civitas? And what should our Tax/Science rates be?

I assumed the LN Settler would build a road for RC on GrassLand Shield. But it could go found F2 Plains right now. Or build 2 roads to RC. Thus 3 choices there, eh? Note: The F2 site is the gap Plains, half way between Little Nemo and Elysium, see City Plan .

Little Nemo now has 1 Warrior guard, building 9/10 Warrior. Size=2, grows in 12, Settlers in 11, recommend change from Warriors ASAP and build a Settler instead.

Thus, Little Nemo will have another Settler built fairly soon in any event. That's why building 1 Road then founding F2 quickly seems best to me.

Please think about all of this and post, or wait and see what good ideas emerge here, then vote.

I'd like to see RC maybe start building a Wonder. We only have the option of Great Library at the moment, but in 20 or so turns we could have Marco's, then we can swap to that.

I'd also like us to have cash in reserve for bribing a boat, but not too much so that other Civs think they can attack us for it!

I'd also like to see the LN settler connect the road to RC. Iirc, having towns connected by road to the capital increases trade income from caravans.

Go found F2 quite quickly.
In any event, LN Settler will go found F2 Gap Plains

Changing the tax rate to 30/70/0 exchanges 3 gold for 3 beakers. F6 changes from 6 turns to 5 turns!

I voted for rushed Dip, LN settler to connect roads, at least
60 gold, 30/0/70.

As a) I am not a fan of filler cities
b) I think we ought to get a road network going,
I think the long term use for the LN setter would be to get
RC, LN, TF, and Elysium connected by road.
 
It would really be helpful if tax rate changes could be considered seperately in their own thread and own poll. I'm afraid many might miss that discussion as it is not even mentioned in the subject line for this thread (i voted for 70% science, btw)
 
Leowind, I appreciate your concern. In this case, everyone did vote for the Max Science Rate. I'm not sure which is better: More separate threads (we have about 10 this turn!) or fewer separate threads. I wish people would post their ideas, come back a day later, read everyone's comments, then vote. Next turn, I will again begin unfocused discussion, and hope some clear poll ideas emerge.

Anyway, this poll seems clear.
Go to 70% max Science Rate.
No more Elvis, work in ocean until Road is built.
RC to build Diplomat, spend $11 twice to complete in 4 turns.
LN Settler to build one more Road (East of LN, charging the Settler in LN will save a turn, then move RC worker), then go found F2 quite quickly.

So, The Temple will be done in 1 turn, the Dip 4 turns later, then what? There was 1 vote for Library, and one for Wonder.

I had voted for Dip, but really wanted to build a Library. I simply felt bad that the people had sacrificed their one Diplomat, and saw nowhere else to rebuild one. What we need is, a Library. I say, lets start a Library! Comments? Objections?

Further, how much will a Barb Trireme cost? Anyone know?

We could suggest this in the initial poll posting.

I also strongly favor building a library. RC is already producing 8 beakers/turn. An extra 4 will be a big boost (almost a 15% increase!)
