Apartment Graphics?

Nice screene. And it seems now Hamburg is getting more popular. :)
 
Here is my work on the screenies d.highland gave me. I changed my mind on the apartment thing, I'll use the Sim City for that. On the right side are the new skyscraper graphics (has some Civ3 and Red Alert) on the bottom are the Sim City graphics as forests (apartments) and on the top is a mixture of both. I had some trouble with the Red Alert buildings because when minimized it blurred the detail and I had to go through and retouch all the buildings :ack:. But I finished it fairly quickly and they came out better than I first suspected. I added in some Sim City shrubbery as well.

There have been small packs of city graphics which have been released by Space One, Weasel Op (I think), Yoda Power and I. I'll find some links for you. (Give me a second)

The graphics I am using are a the BfNY terrain with grass/plains/desert swiched so I can get forests on the terrain I want, FYI.

BfNY Original
Grassland -> Concrete
Plains -> Roads
Desert -> Grassland

My Current
Grassland -> Concrete
Plains -> Grassland
Desert -> Roads

I redid my houses for the grasslands with D.Highlands pics. I may want to tweak them soon though, because sometimes they overlap with roads,

Some of the small houses seem to be too dark. And there is one house, i really don´t want to inhabit. :lol:
 
Yeah there is one or two that would cause a little traffic :lol:. The reason that happened is because there forest .pcx squares are larger than the normal square for whatever reason, but I'll fix that later. :crazyeye: There is also a little bit of whiter pixels on the edges that I got too lazy to crop of so, I'll handle that as well.

Now, if anyone could also point be to point me to graphics of run down inner-city buildings that would be appreciated. :) That's my next addition.
 
An unused/condemned building, planks on the doors cracked windows, that kind of stuff.

There are some older graphics I used to use for urban warfare graphics, I may dig them up and add moss and planks and such. But don't feel obliged to help me, you've already given me a gold mine. :)

Hmm, maybe the damaged structures of the ones I provided MIGHT fit that. Maybe, just maybe.
 
Well I have started working on something. It is Juul's city buildings shrunk to 1/4 size, with multiple buildings on each square. I have added some messy trees and little green lines that we will pretend are weeds and overgrowth. I put some flowers on the weeds, some planks on the doors and am adding graphitti. I'm not done but this is what I have:

I added some holes in some buildings and a fence or two too.

You can't see it in the grainy preview but the bottom right one has "FCK" written on it with the U conveniently blocked by a tree. ;)



EDIT: This terrain is mean to produce 0 food, 0 shields and 0 commerce; I found out if you flag hills with the "clear forest" option you can remove them, so this is pre-placed mess you have to remove.
