Apolyton Sucks!

Compared to Apolyton this place is way fast...

Ever since they upgraded the Apolyton forums have been slow as hell!

There's some good stuff to found at Apolyton; but it's pain the ass finding it ... which I why around here. (But I usually Apolyton once a month or so.)

apolyton has a very good strategy section. its called The Great Library. i suggest everyone visits it. its under civ2

Cal is referring to the load time of the site itself.

It crawls veeeeery slooooooowly.

We complain about it, and are told things like "Come back when it's not busy", or "Well, I'm not having such a problem".

They added all those great features, but made the site extremly user unfriendly.

It's bad buisness.

Supposedly it is just ironing out some kinks with the new server, which is supposed to be faster than the old one.

They are probably affected by the recent flood in Texas too...

The CivFanatics forum doesn't have much problem now, but the server that hosts the main site is still not stable.

Oh no, another Apo thread. I started such a thread a month ago and I didn't expected it to turn into flames. Hope this one will keep cool.
Anyway I've not been back to Poly yet to judge. Since my internet access is now temporarily really bad.

PS: I guess Dan and Mark wil be back right?

From me, Apol is faster than this site. I think perhaps it is the new images that brings up your load time. That will fix itself as the images go into your cache.

At least it did for me.
