hello everybody.

i'm new to the forum and almost new to civilization.

i bought this game because it was one of the few "big titles" for mac, but I soon get involved.

I love fantasy settings since I was born, so when I came to know of fall from heaven (almost by accident) I was really happy.

Then I came to this forum, and I tried to figure out if it can be run on a mac. I'm not sure at all, but I'd say no. Indeed, the file to download is an .exe, so i have only 2 chances: or there is some other link I do not know, either there is a way to download the source code and make it go on my civ 4 for mac?

please help i really do want to be part of this adventure.

(p.s. i tried to figure out it from the forum, but "mac" is to short for the search tool and there are lot of threads :) )

Sorry for you , but i think you should take a look at the mac sub forum ... And mac can't play MOD with a dll . And FFH can't be played with out dll .

Tcho !

The exe is only an install that unzips the files so it would be not a problem to unzip it at an other PC and then copy it via pen drive to your Mac.

The dll might be a problem here thou. Kael is realising the source code for the dll here in the first post: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=238077

If you can compile it your self so it will work under Mac then great.

thank you everybody.

to bring the contempt of the package to the mac should not be a problem, then I will see what I can do. If someone has some more info about how can I make that dll working, please post here.

Mac players hopes for BtS for 6 months ... do you have it works with mac ?
Any custom dll is not taken in count with mac . So FFh can't work with mac anyway . You should ask what you can do in this thread

Tcho !

Wouldn't the easiest solution be to install XP or Vista onto your Apple machine and switch to that o/s when you want to play a game?

I do not think that microsoft software can run on Mac computers. Better try to virtualize it or something but for that you need a powerful machine.

Unless his mac is ancient he should be able to install windows without any problems. Hell, macs actually run windows BETTER than a pc.

The most recent ones can via Boot Camp. Of course, you then need a Windows copy of the game (CD or Steam - the latter might be cheaper, not sure, though it's more of a pain when patches come out) which is frustrating when you've already bought it!

Don't know anything about running mods on Macs - there's a Mac subforum, as someone mentioned, which might help with compiling libraries for mods.

You can now install windows as a dual-booting system. The Macbook Pro actually runs XP fantastically, and vista quite well.
