My game has been steady with no crashes for a very long time, and now all of a sudden I get this error twice in one day. It's a fairly generic error, but I've posted event log below. I'm running Win 7 64 bit, all microsoft patches are current.

The only thing in that, that would apply to me is video drivers. I'll check my version and see what's current.

Also, interestingly enough, it just crashed again. That's three this morning so far, and on each time it froze when I planted a great artist for it's building. So, for now until I finish this game, I'll just save it before I plant a great person.

That's some good information actually. Maybe a game file is corrupt, in particular in relation the this or all (great person) tile improvements. So check the file integrity of CiV within the stream application and maybe try reinstall the game if that process didn't help.
 
Checking the files integrity seems to have fixed it. Steam downloaded a file, and since then no problems. Thanks!:)
