The arabs a pretty good little civ, they are a 2 sided civ
there good at domination and economics

They start out with religion +1 attack, witch is very strong and there best bonus
then also get 50% gold production from caravans, a very good bonus for economical victory
They later get +1 horseman/knight attack, which makes horse armies have 6 more attack than normal horsemen.
and 2% interest on gold reserves is nice too

Strategy: attack with knights, and make some gold

a pretty good civ, but not really a great civ

rating: 7 out of 10

You forgot about their free Mathmatics. That combined with Fundamentalism means that they've got an excellent early-mid game with catapults. It's a shame, because a lot of people don't bother with catapults when they are an amazing unit to attack with. Just make sure you bring an archer or pikemen army along as they move, or when you drop them off with a boat.

I think I have this right. Here's my proposed tactics using Arabians.

Tech Path -
Horse Back Riding
Alphabet
Writing
Code of Laws
Literacy
<<<Enter Medieval Era>>>
Democracy

You tech HBR first to produce defensive units to replace the loss of Archers. Instead of waiting to be attacked, you simply attack the enemy as they close in on you using your Fundamentalism boosted, double movement, four legged terrors.

Researching five techs puts you into Medieval era, giving you Catapults. By teching Literacy, you cut down on the time to produce Democracy and build up a few armies of Catapults. Once Democracy is tech'd, build/rush Pikemen to protect them.

Any flaws readily apparent in this game plan?

Edit -
I think you might be able to cut out Literacy, saving you just a little bit of time (since I think it'd increase the cost of Democracy), and allowing you to produce both Catapults and Pikemen at the same time...

Why do you need catapult if you are going for democratie?

What mean the 2% interest in gold? you always get a 2% more gold?

thank you, ill add that

Arabs are a great Civ, but I cant seem to get a good attack plan down with them.
With the early access to catapults you should be able to invade a neighbour (escorted by an archer army ofcourse) with them while they still only have archers. Later build lots of knights and and try to plan it so you can finish leonardos workshop immediately after you research combustion. Victory should then be imminent. ;)

The arabs are pretty amazing, however i dont like the dark green lool so i dont play as them lol - if they switched to a lighter green then of course i would play lol, but for me colour is everything lol

Yeah, I love catapults when im getting ready to attack armies, thats why the arabs are great.

However, the last time I attempted to fight a war, Mao mopped the floor with me. He had like 8 or 9 legion armies, so it was tough.

yea i was going for an economic victory with them but somehow those horseman armies were just too tempting and i ended up with a domination victory instead. story of my civrev life so far.

Wow, that's a lot of 'lol' in such a short post. :mischief:
