Hey there,

I captured Archeron with a beastmaster (very good they can do that now). But Archeron wont move. Is that a bug or intentional? I know he wont move while being a barbarian, but in Fire if you could capture him, he could move and so was very awesome to have. Because of all the effort you must put in it to capture him its a bit of a pity you cant play him.

I hope its just a bug, but let me/us know.

It is not a bug. It was the last resort to keeping him in his city, permanent assignment to motionless blob.

I don't know if he can get the Movement promotions, but that, or Haste spell MIGHT allow you to start moving him.

hm, i hope it does. He is quit useless like this. f you capture him, he is out of the city, but cant get back in for instance. movement promotion is interesting, will try that, thanks!!

A while back there was talk about giving him a -4 movement promotion, and then removing it on death (capture). I tried implementing this, but I couldn't figure out how to undue the 'duct-taping'. The promotion applied and unapplied fine though.

Did anyone (Kaels job, right?) on the team try it that way?

Kael cut his wings for his bad behavior. :(

Actually I didn't get what the problem with his walking. Yes, city_defender standard script in BTS allows him to walk around, but some others (like anti_air_defence) AFAIK make unit immobile under AI control.

He can get Mobility I, at least. In my current game I captured him with a beastmaster and he already had Mobility I, but I wasn't able to give him additional Mobility promotions as he gained xp. Still, pretty cool to be able to move him around and use him offensively.

In 30f Acheron set to <Domain>DOMAIN_IMMOBILE</Domain> (duct-tape)
but has <iMoves>3</iMoves>

In 30g it set back to <Domain>DOMAIN_LAND</Domain> but <iMoves>0</iMoves> so it won't move unless it gain mobility or hasted

Stick him in the Trojan Horse until you can get him the mobility I promotion or a body I adept with him. He makes a great defender.

I was able to get him. As was warned I did attack him before by few warriors (Blur and courage work!) and captured in the same turn so he has XP next turn and got mobility.

I have thought about the wandering dragon problem and have a question: Is it possible to assign a non-air unit the bombing raid commands from bomber units in vanilla Civ? If so, you could give Big Red an option to attack surrounding country-sides or oncoming hordes of troops, while staying put on his lair of choice. If you could tell the AI to give priority to those commands, instead of sauntering around, then that would make him stay put, and allow him to function a little more as a terror than just a prize pack. Especially if you could give him a very large bombing radius. Something to ponder.

Neat trick: As a beast, Govannan can train Dragons. Teleport him to your capitol
