Disaster 2 game at turn 89, when I settle on a floodplain rice, it gives 6 food 2 production.
How many times has this river flooded?! It has been only 89 turns with disaster 2!

It depends on the roll of the dice I have played a game as Egypt and my river flooded once, and then another as Maya and that one can't stop breaking its banks

I've had runs of four or five successive disasters - flood, volcano, dust storm one turn after another. It's based on luck but modified by the land area you control. If you have one river, then there is X% chance of a flood. As far as I know you only have one disaster per turn. So if you have two rivers, then you have the same chance for each river, but the probability is now doubled.
But as bite said, it's the luck of the draw.

It *seems* nastier. one river overflowed 3x costing me people, and a volcano blew a bunch of times, sometimes wiping out all the improvements, sometimes just pillaging. It seemed to settle down later on, but the dust storms are brutal now.

i believe it sometimes give multiple yields, so 2 disasters giving 3 yields each may be possible. idk how much of a chance of that in disaster 2 on your size of map
