Are scenarios set difficulty/speed?

I noticed that the new scenarios allow the player to select their speed and difficulty, with the default at Noble/Normal.

Are the scenarios made with noble/normal speed in mind, or should the player go ahead and change these to their usual preferences (in my case emperor/epic)?

I would like to know the answer to this question too.

I'd leave the speed alone (might mess with triggers), but I doubt you could blow up anything too important with difficulty settings. Just keep in mind some scenarios are naturally easier or harder than others; setting it to your normal difficulty level might result in a cakewalk... or a massacre.

Since scenarios generally have much more limited options for building/settling/etc., it means that strategies you can use to gain advantage in normal FFH won't necessarily work here - I'm going to stick to the recommended normal speed and noble difficulty, as I assume it's more or less balanced for that. I'm more playing the scenarios for storyline anyhow :)

I think the majority of them will work fine with any combo of difficulty & speed that you are comfortable with, so go wild.
Into the Desert (coming real soon) has a turn # time limit at one point, and I'm not sure if it is game-speed adjusted. There isn't any other issue to my knowledge.

If you start the scenarios from the ingame (start a random game and click on the most left button under the turn timer, choose the scenario in the upcoming scenario screen and click on the flag left of the name), you will not be able to choose difficulty.
So, either speed and difficulty are set by the game you started to load the scenario, or they are set.

No you get to choose the difficulty and speed that way too seZ, at least on all I've played.

In 2 scenarios I have played I was given the choice of selecting the speed and difficulty too.
