Are You Being Spied On?

I can run adaware without finding anything but cookies... Spybot always seems to find 5 DSO errors and they always appear, even on different computers...

If you don't want to install Kazaa Lite, get WinMX instead; it has never included Spyware, and it has a large user base.
I myself would rather not bother with kazaa at all, however my brother likes to DL music and keeps it on his computer.BTW why does kazaa offer a lite version anyways?

Kazaa offers no such thing. An independent team of coders came out with it so that they could use the same program, reap the benefits, and lose the crappiness. Actually, Kazaa Lite can't access all the same servers as regular Kazaa anymore, but it still gets the same basic servers, so it works still.

Of course, my links in that old thread are dead since the RIAA pretty much are trying to shut down any of those sites that share them; but there are still links and files out there that have them. I think someone linked it in this thread earlier, but I haven't checked that link to see if it's good or not.

The majority of people don't even bother with P2P anymore. Most just set up FTPs and Torrents, but that's another story, and stealing is bad.

Ah, that explains it. I was confused as to why Kazaa would offer one wiht spyware and one without. Next Q: Why is the RIAA trying to shut down Kazaa lite but not kazaa?

To be honest, I'm not sure. It's possible that Kazaa (the company) went after those who made Kazaa Lite and ordered them to cease. It might have had nothing to do with the RIAA; but don't take my word on that.

Yeah Jeratin, you should really get with the program and UPDATE THOSE LINKS! Kazaa Ressrection is up and K-Lite died (well it is at Oldversion), Mailwasher has moved around (it's now owned by Firetrust), and other stuff too. That topic is a year old though...heh.

Theres an easy way around spyware cookies, when ur in IE you go to tools then to internet options.Go to the privacy tab and hit advanced, check overide automatic cookie handling. Then hit accept for 1st party cookie and block for 3rd party cookies.after you click ok the changes are saved and it shouldn't interfere with your normal web browsing. So far its worked well for me.

I found that the anti-spyware pop ups are alot more annoying than the spyware itself. Ie:"WE HAVE DETECTED SPYWARE ON YOUR PC, WE WILL NOW OPEN YOUR CD-DRIVE AND TYPE RANDOM THINGS ON NOTEPAD, WHILE THIS AD COVORS THE ENTIRE SCREEN!!11!!"

Hackers are very bad people.
Technically, these aren't hackers we are dealing with. These are just greedy ****ers who collect your information to make money off advertising or by selling to to marketing firms.
