We just try to forget it, but that one part of the Turnpike that really smells like ass never really goes away.
Back on topic - if we ever really were there - what is the relevance of Hitler's mythical Aryan-homeland village? I mean, seriously. Is this just an opportunity to roundly mock his pseudoanthropology?

Beethoven's Ninth begins. Satanic laughter can be heard through the window, followed by screams. Sharwood looks outside, to a world gone mad.
"My God." he exclaims. "It's, it's... The Apocalypse."
Winged demons fly through the air. The sky has darkened, and appears to be on fire. A dark man in a robe, flying a skeletal pegasus that snorts fire, is rounding up people and hurling them into flames, laughing at their screams of torment. The smell of sulphur is heavy in the air.
Sharwood hears a scuttling noise. He turns. Millions of small insects are swarming into his room. He backs away, towards the window. He attempts to dive out of it, but is repelled by a wave of heat and the stench of burning human flesh. The horseman hovers outside his window.
"I am the horseman of death." he rasps, his voice like like sandpaper. "And I've come to welcome you home, Lord Sharwood."
The insects are now crawling over Sharwood. He sees them clearly. Scarabs. They're scarab beetles. They begin to eat into his flesh. They are crawling under his skin. Death laughs.
The scarabs are now underneath the flesh of Sharwood's face. He feels them begin to nibble at his eyes. Sharwood screams, and scarabs flow into his open mouth...
It's worse; it's a Godwin in disguise. Arkaim is the place that the Nazis thought was the genesis of their Aryan people.

What, no love for the bulk of my post? I may have to actually look up this Arkaim. Godwin and Pannonius, one and the same? Sweet Jesus, I'm converting, the Apocalypse really is coming.
