Possible definitions of Armageddon:
1) When the One comes to destroy the world
2) Some kind of evil version of armageddon

Each time a certain type of event happens an Armageddon counter is added.

e.g. Every time a demon is spawned an Armageddon counter is added. The chance of Armageddon occurring is calculated each turn and is calculated by Percent chance of Armageddon occurring = No. of Armageddon counters / 1000.

When Armageddon comes the world is invaded each turn by more and more fully fledged angels of the One who attack all civs not following The Order. This mechanism would allow evil religions and civs to be a bit more powerful than good civs/religions, however if Armageddon comes before they have won the game then they have to face off an unlimited horde of very powerful angels. Civs following the Order will probably use this powerful advantage to attack the other civs to win the game. This also gives civs an incentive to upgrade from the early religions as the game goes on.

Alternatively an evil version of Armageddon could be used similarly for the Sheiam to destroy the world.

Cool, huh? :cooool:

Might it be wanted/possible - for these angels and deamons to spawn, and attack any city that is not wholey of the faith?

That is, when armeggedon comes, could not the spawning angels attack and destroy any city with a trace of hethanism in it? This would give much more importance to inquisitors - interesting plots and story lines could be spun from the drastic last minute attempts to expunge any remaining traces of the enemy of those coming to hurt you.

In this, all deamons produced by armeggedon would attack any city with any relegion OTHER than ashen vale. Only pure ashen vale (and I suppose iirreligious cities) would be spared - same with the angels and the order.

Repent, for the end is nigh..

Only problem would be that all the good ones are allied against the bad ones...
So its very unlikley kilorph would attack junil

I though the armageddon counter was telling the number of turns left before someone built the wonder that will bring hell/heaven to earth!!!

And if only The Order of AV get troops, the rest religion civs will suffer a lot!

This is the incentive to upgrade from early religions to the late religions!

I don't know of the other armageddon counter... This is just an idea I have.

But if you're happy with your religion you should not be forced to change!

Elves + leaves = winner
Dwarves + runes = winner (kind of)

The other civ can go for any religion, but they may found themselves trapped in an early religion and have a difficult time changing

Well this is an idea for a late end game possibility. Since it really requires someone to be AV (to bring demons into the world - other than mardero) and even then it would take a few hundred turns to happen! So it is more of a late game tie breaker/war causer (and very interesting to boot IMO!).

Well if powerful Angels/Demons were brought into the world by AV or the Order, wouldn't similar entities arrive to protect their faithful? Forest and Earth entities for Leaves and Runes and maybe soem type of Cthuloid creature (Byakhee, Servitors or Shuggoths) for OO? These creatures would have their own adjendas (destroy all non-AV or protect the forests, etc.). This way you don't have to change your religion but will need to do some creative maneuvering to survive and/or conquer others. Kind of an "everyone play fair in the pool" sort of mentality.

If mythos entities show up in the late game, assuming The Stars Are Right, why would it be the servitor and enslaved creatures that show up? If anything, shoggoths would probably be showing up earlier if that were the case; in the very late game, Old Squid Head himself and the other Great Old Ones would more likely put in an appearance, providing their presence doesn't conflict with the already present ideas of the FFH crew and world.
However, if Great Old Ones are too much, the appearance of the lesser servitors would likely be more comparable to the angels and demons; deep ones rising from sunken cities for instance.

Water-based cities, cities spawning on previously uninhabited islands, or land-mass generated a certain distance from colonised/civilised land with a city on it could represent the cities of Deep Ones or possibly old Rl'yeh rising. Just a suggestion though. These cities and units that they might train could possibly belong to the founders of Octopus Overlords (if they actually have it as SR), barbarians or a new civ though I think the latter probably wouldn't be so pheasible at this point, since the team are already busy doing a damned fine job with the Infernal and Mercurians at the moment.

Servitors would show up because they are akin to demons and angels. They are the hosts that do battle not the gods themselves. Gods showing up endgame is like sweeping the chessboard clean and calling no winner. There has to be some chance for the player to survive or else why play until the end?

seems like all your asking is for the order to be able to do what the ashen veil already can. then again , with the order , god works through his children.

personally i think its a bad idea and like it as an AV special
