Yeah, this post was inspired by my first ever Altar victory... with Elohim.

1) I don't even think that Amurites have an advantage there. You either reroll mana sources with Metamagic (anyone but Khazad can do that if they have at least one mana source) or vassalize civs for palace mana.
2) Clan of Embers: Warrens + the Prophecy
3) Rusher civs, perhaps? But it really depends on map size (e.g. in Duel Doviello can easily prevent AC from ever growing by ending the Age of Rebirth early)
4) Any RoK + Philosopher civ (Arete for birth rate). Maybe Kuriotates?

Re:
1) Amurites just have Metamagic sooner, since you need Sorcery to get it otherwise.
2) Cool, I'll try that.
3) I meant specifically that the AC could be brought down from high numbers. It's pretty easy to prevent the AC from getting up there, but once it is, Elohim has a way better, additional mechanic for bringing it down.
