Not at all. It means that they are decorated, rather than being purely utilitarian. That sword is my best work to date.

I would like to add to my order a Decorated Iron Sheild and add decorations to my sword.

That should be 200g additional to my original order.

EDIT: Ohh Decorated with Detailed Dragons which will inspire fear in our enemies.

Hail to you,

As Minister of Finance and Science for The Community I am very interested in your bows and arrows. I am also interested in your Iron (I substance that our scientists will soon master!).
I would like to make the following purchases:
Iron Spear 85
Iron Shield 70
Iron Breastplate 150
Iron Helmet 30
Iron Sword 120
Short Bow 60
20 Arrows 20
I believe that comes to 535g.

You will be extremely well armed, Scorpius. It will be well worth the money when the war starts.

Lord Scorpius, know that you can get a superior Longbow at the Futuristic Weapons Shop for a better price..... that is all.....

I thought you weren't gonna thread jack again.

Remember those boar spears you made for me earlier? They work quite well form horseback except for a weight problem that forces the balance too far forward. I'd like 2 of these long spears but with shorter heads and no cross poinyard at all. I need the head weight about 1/3 of the boar spears.

I also need an iron sword long enough to swing from horseback. That custom job you made for Cyc a while back should suit nicely.

I'll need two shields. One normal and one made oblong, the size of two shields held together for horseback use.

Add in a full set of iron armor and a set of leather as well.

I will need a second sword, and this will be a very special piece. It will be the mark of authority for the Earldom of Seabrake. I'd like this to be that longer sword style as well. It absolutely must be a masterpiece work with exceptional attention to the blade. Please commission the finest smith in Morgana. Have it folded at least 3 times more than a standard blade, more if possible, and make two blood runnels. The decorative theme will be bear. The pommel will look like two rearing bears, back to back, standing on a capstone crystal, their spreading arms will be the crossguards and the blade will appear to rise from between them. Their eyes will be gemstones of a carat each; rubies for one bear and saphires for the other (war/peace). I'm hoping you can get the gems from the new jem shop. If not, I can have them added afterwards.

I hope you have one strong horse to carry you around with all this metal on. Anyway, that sword you want. The special one. Folding iron is really, really difficult. I will probably waste quite a bit of good metal making that, so it will cost you. How about...500 gold, not including the gems, though I will leave sockets for them?

As for the other stuff:

iron longsword (Cyc style): 150 gold
iron shield: 70 gold
iron tower shield: 150 gold
2 iron horseman's spears: 150 ( 200 if you want them masterwork)
leather armor: 50 gold
suit of iron armor: 350 gold (that is a lot of iron)

total: 920 gold

I am in need of light armor, in order to rush into battle with agility yet still not well... die. Preferably made of leather, maybe bear or bull.

If you are strong, a breastplate will allow you to move quickly and generally keeps one from being impaled... It leaves the legs mostly free.;)

Eyrei: 500 gold for a folded iron sword? What madness is that? Are you trying to bankrupt our Crusaders our what? I wouldn't charge nearly so much for a sword such as that..... not that I'm advertising.... no.......

Considering this is a secret that has not even been perfected by the Japanese...yes.:D

Actually, I was thinking leather, maybe with a little chainmail?

Well, if you wear leather, and cover your chest with a chainmail shirt, that should server your purpose.

Not even perfected by the Japanese? On one of my many trips to a remote region of Japan, the local master swordsmith taught me how to do this effectively and cheaply. But enough of my spam, I'll shut up now.
