ASPI Drivers?

Apparently I had them but now I don't and I can't copy CDs to my computer now. EDIT: Or play Civ3!!!

I finally got around to downloaded that...but what do I do with it?

And if you put it in the system directory (Assume that its c:\windows\system32\ )

1.) Click start
2.) Select 'run'
3.) type in: regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\wnaspi32.dll
4.) hit enter.

You should then get a message that the DLL has been successfully registered.

DllRegister may not be exported, or a corrupt version of C:\windows\system32.wnaspi.dll may be in memory. Consider using PView to detect and remove it."

Hmm, if I read this computer gibberish right, I still have my old, corrupt ASPI driver and I must delete it? Or am I wrong?

you can unload the old version by tyuping:

regsvr32.exe /u c:\windows\system32\wnaspi32.dll

(note the /u for 'unregister)

Do that, delete the dll file, copy the new-one in, and run the regsvr32 again.

Another option would be to copy them to the laptop - but how can I get them onto the PC if I can't email or put them on a floppy (too big)?

Sorry, an't help you much, but have you tried putting the CDs on computer via Windows Media Player...


If you want to put them onto the laptop, then copy them, get some Ehternet cable and link up the two computers, if you don't have an ethernet jack, you can buy a cheap card for about $25. Then, set up a network using Windows,m should take you about 5 mins, and simply copy the files...

Alternatively, you can buy a USB Key/Card/Storage Device/Thingie and move them that way, though that would take a long while...

EDIT: Problem solved. Apparently MusicMatch doesn't need the driver or replaced it or something; either way, its working perfectly.

I've been considering doing that for a while now, because its extremely unstable, but it doesn't have popular support in the household.

Just copy all the files to CD's and then reinstall and don't tell/ask them.
