Chieftain
Hi,
So after taking a longer break, I wanted to come back to modding a few weeks ago, with a bunch of patches and DLCs that got released in the meantime.
However, when I started ModBuddy and tried to access the AssetEditor, it slowly started but then quit with an error message. So I read about all kinds of fixes for the AE crashes, I reset all the path configurations etc.
After nothing of that did the trick, I tried a quick reinstall. This resulted in the same crashes as well as the fact that all the templates (like NewUnit, NewCivilization, ...) were gone, so I had to test the AE on my existing mods - with no success.
My next step was to backup my mod files, uninstall the SDK, delete every directory related to the SDK and then freshly install it again. Now after that installation, additionally to all the problems I've mentioned before, I cannot even find the AE in the "Tools" dropdown.
I tried Steam's file validation, uninstalling VisualStudioShell and a few more iterations of reinstallating the SDK, but nothing brought the AE back
I guess some patch or something broke this? Did I miss some important step? Would be great if you could help me figure this out, after all these hours I'm quite a bit frustrated
