Asset Viewer not working (Blank screen)

Hi,

I can't get Asset Viewer in Nexus to load anything. I've followed Deliverator's guide and when I go to load something, anything, vanilla or altered, it just comes up with a blank black screen. I get no noticeable errors or problems it just doesn't 'work' (which is the most frustrating kind of not working) - however upon checking in the error log section I get the following:

Reflection TypeLoadException

That's it. Now I used to do a lot of modding when civ first came out but all the guides seem out of date or don't work (I get there have been patches etc) and I did see a thread saying Nexus Asset Viewer may be broken (with people posting from about late Dec 2010 to mid 2011) BUT I've heard other people talk 'matter of factly' about how you should use it to view unit reskinnings etc.

So my question is, does it work? What could i be doing wrong? I don't want tor eally have to be reinstalling all my files etc and messing with the registry again. All my other tools are working fine. Oh and my Unit Viewer is greyed out in Nexus too.

Any help would be really greatly appreciated, I just want to get past this step, I've been banging my head against a brick wall now for a couple of days.

I know some people just use an old version of the Asset Viewer. There is one registry key you'll need to change to point to an alternate location (so it doesn't get overwritten when you update the rest of the SDK), but that's it.

I was wondering though if you could provide more specifics? Where for example would I find an older version of Asset Viewer? As far as I can tell it all just goes through Steam and was auto-updated.

Also what would that registry key be? I apologise if I'm missing something obvious, I just have no idea where to find said asset viewer or what registry entry to make - and I'm not wanting to blindly start tinkering around with my registry - I use Windows 7 by the way.

Funnily enough I removed some old registry entries for Nexus, verified my Civ 5 files, uninstalled the local files of the SDK, reinstalled it, set all my path up again and a ton of things now work that never worked for me before (like Unit Viewer etc), but again, I load the file, no error message, it just shows a black blank screen. I had to point to viewer.exe in my registry to get the 3D viewer to work and I'm just frustrated as it should all be working I think. Still I just get that blank black screen, frustrating, I got a bunch of things working I don't want, and can't get this to work - I just want to view my reskinned units.

Any help, more specifics etc would be greatly appreciated - thanks again.
