Ok, so this worked for me. I'm using win XP with SP2 on a laptop and have a ATI Mobility Radeon 9000.
They keep telling you to update your driver right? But you can't get any updated drivers from ATI. You either get the message no video card found or that one INF error when you're installing the driver/catalyst.
This is what you need to do!
Download the tool from http://www.driverheaven.net/patje
Download the driver/catalyst from ATI https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=293
When you have downloaded the driver/catalyst it will try to install and it will fail with that one INF error. No worries, just let it fail.
Now go use that tool from patje, directions are on his site.
Restart your computer
Play!
Note: - I have downloaded all possible ATI drivers from their site (at least three different depending on what options you choose after win xp). I used one with the tool and it worked, I don't know which one.
So there, hope this can help you out! I spend a week searching for a solution so please forgive me, I'm gonna check now if I see landtiles etc.. At least it got me past the no startup movie/menu bug.
EDIT a few hours later: EUREKA!!! No bugs in sight (yet)! Give this fix a try ppl
