I've found multiple people reporting stuttering audio in the intro and/or wonder movies. I have the same problem on a fresh Windows XP SP2 install, Athlon XP 2000, ATI Radeon 9600, 512MB RAM.
The audio plays for about a second, then drops for a second, then plays for a second, ...

I've come accross other people with the same problem as well but haven't found a solution anywhere. Anyone else with this problem or a soltution?

Thanks.

EDIT: I had to do the art file unpacking to get the game to run.

Actually I have a similar setup and the same problem (Among others like CTDs). I'm going to try rolling all of the way back to the 4.11b drivers as someone else suggested in another thread http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=135706

However, what's insteresting is that I didn't have the stutter problems when I played the game after I first installed it. It only started happening when I played the game later on.

The game's only a couple days old. I'd be surprised if a solution were available already.

I'm getting the same stutter problem with movies, and it's the only problem I have. I do not get this problem with the intro movie, but pretty much every other movie does it (including the finale movie).

System specs
  • Windos XP SP2 (fully updated)
  • AMD Sempron 2400+
  • 1GB PC2700 RAM
  • GeForce 6600 GT (AGP) (latest drivers)
  • Hercules GameTheater XP (using 5.1 speakers) (latest drivers, which sadly are pretty old... darn you, Hercules!)

I had the exact same problem: no stuttering on installation, but started when playing later. For myself, it was because I changed the resolution from 1024x768 to 1400x1050. Once I changed it back to the default resolution it fixed the problem. I do wish they would fix this bug.
