Hey all

Is there a way to change the bombing order when selecting auto-bomb? (Ctrl+B) I want to send jet fighters first, to lure enemy fighters, then send the real bombers. But most of all, I want my ground artillery to bombard first, to injury defenders, then send the bombers to finish them off. I've tried to Ctrl+B carefully one by one, first arties, then jets and finally bombers, but the next turn it's the same, air units attack first, then the ground ones. Can I change their priority or something?

No, I believe it's hard coded. You'll just have to go 1 by 1. I think there's no particular order to it.

Okay, see, I'm dumb. What does auto-bombing do. Ever time I use auto-bombing, the next turn the ask for more orders...

Are you sure you clicked auto bomb? Or is it just new bombers. Anyhow, auto bombing stops when there is nothing left to destroy (of course).

Artilleries stop auto bombing if an enemy walks an adjacent tile, or you set them adjacent to a city or fortified unit. I thikn it's the same for bombers.

And no, I've seen my bombers bombard cities with absolutely no thing on it, no units, no population, no buildings. They just do their thing and always fail (of course). And... I'd say it's the same for atrilleries, but I'm not 300% sure about it. They only stop autobomb when the tile you were bombing becomes yours.

Has anyone ever sunk a ship with a bomber? I can only ever get them down to one red bar, never do sink..

Thanks,

What am I missing then?
I can never sink one.
Also is it normal to only be able to attack a ship once per turn, even with different bombers?

Now that I recall. yes, once it is red-lined I cannot attack it again.

I do have vanilla, just bought it a while ago at Big Lots for 6 bucks. No manual or nothing.

I am at a point in my current game where I have tons o cash, about 2000 gold and more coming in from Techs I sold. I wish I had a use for all this cash...

Look on your disk for a pdf manual. It might be there. I think (but am not sure) that lethal bombard was added to bombers later (in one of the expansions). So if you're unable to bombard after they're redlined, that's the problem. As for the cash, I'm always a big fan of: (1) running deficit research; and (2) cash-rushing lots of units so that I can go stomp an AI.

If you're already running 4-turn research and have lots of extra gold and don't need more units, you can rush Banks and stuff like that. Then there's espionage - not really worth the money most of the time but a way to spend it if you have more money than you know what to do with. Or buy luxuries at extremely high prices.

Back on the subject, is there any way I can get Bombers to auto-bomb everywhere within their range? Like bombard the ground until it resembles the Moon? As it is it is quite tiresome turning an enemy continent into the Moon.

Different governments use different hurry methods. Some use pop-rushing, which is forced labor and costs you people. Cash-rushing is spending gold to finish building units in a turn. So if I have lots of gold and some cavalry builds (preferably ones with a few shields already invested), I can spend the gold, finish all those cavalry builds in that turn, then go a-warring.
