Quick question:

In reading through the forums I've noticed people mentioning an auto-save feature several times. Wanted to know how I can activate this. Just lost about an hour of gameplay to the program 'encountering a problem' and shutting down. Similarly I've lost hours on being absent minded and forgetting to plug in my laptop as I play. If there was an auto-save feature it would save me a lot of grief. (I tend to forget to manual save often enough)

I play with the BUG and LOR (which merges BUG with others mods live Rev) mods and its one of the options you can set (Ctrl+alt+O). It allows you to save when you begin, end, and close a game. There was one other saving option but for the life of me I can't remember it at this time.

Auto-save automatically saves every five turns, and keeps only the 4000BC save and the last five auto-saves by default. You can edit this somewhere in the XML to save every turn and keep hundreds of auto-save files.

You can easily access it in-game by going to the load game screen. Just find the single player save game folder (titled "single" I believe), and open it; the auto-save folder is in there.

You don't have to edit XML. The autosave parameters are in in the .ini file.
