I don't know if everyone else knows about this but when I am doing a "transparency" in .gif format and I end up with a file size that is just a bit to big, I find that if I go back in the picture and use the smudge tool in areas that are like colors I can bring the size of the pic down a bit.

For example on Diego after the last crop I did I ended up at about 4011 after smudging it ended up at 3096 and a save size of 4081 (just under the limit) so this saved me from having to crop it even further.

If this is widely known information I appoligize but this has helped me when doing transparencies.

ahhhhhhhhhh the benefits of Photoshop .... I can adjust files size with just a click of the mouse, no smudding needed


Good idea for those that don't have Photoshop though!!!!

you cannot use a .bmp for an avatar. convert them to .gif as I think that is Perfections preference IIRC.

no problem, when everybody starts dont know that thing about picture types. the simpliest way is to go to paint or another program and choose "save as..." then you choose the type, jpg, png or gif, and save.

Jpg is one of the best types because they tend to be smaller in filesize.
