Ehhhh, how do i post the image like Betrayed and Misfit just did? I've seen it plenty before but i always just attach my images using that neat "manage attachments" option below, i will post my avatars as soon as i figure it out
Upload it somewhere, then link to it like an address but using the

Anti-aliasing... I haven't got Photoshop, but there might be an option to turn it off...

Ok, thanks, i'll check it out and sort it out (if i can).

One thing that I have found is that you can display your avatars in rows instead of columns.

This is how many people write up their avatar collections and they end up with somthing looking like this:
Column2.png.gif

I prefer to display them in the row form like this.
Notice that all I did was to go to the end of your first line and hit "delete" to get rid of the hard break between avatars and then hit "space" about 4 or five times to get some distance between the avatars. We end up with somthing like this:

I think that you can put around 8 avatars in one column but don't quote me on that. I normall will put them in rows of five if I have a bunch to display as 10 images is the maximum allowable on a single post.

I think that they look nicer this way but that is just me. :mischief:

Also note that when displaying a transparent .gif avatar you should put the avatar in [quote} boxes so it displays with the same color as will be shown when uploaded as a personal avatar:

Elephant with the tags only (no [QUOTE} tags)

Elephant with both the and the [quote} tags:

How do you make that coulored background, mistfit? It would be nice if I could learn, so I could have some variation to my avatars sometimes.

Thank you for not forgeting the "T" :D

By colored background I presume that you mean the one that I did on your Elephant.

The 1st Elephant I did for you does not have a colored background. It actually has no back ground at all. It is a .gif Transparancy. I think there is a tutorial on the front page describing how that is done.

The 2nd elephant I did does indeed have a colored background that was accomplished by getting the background all one color 1st (white in this case). Using the magic wand to pick just that color (I presume most graphics programs have this feature) and then using the Gradient fill tool to get the "rainbow effect".

I'm not sure which one you are referring to but if you are more specific I could do a short tutorial on either.

OK, thanks, i'll think about that next time i post em :D.

mistfit: you can also use [pre][/pre] tage to preserve the spacing

like this:

[pre]
akiraexplosionavatar4k.gif
akirabikeswerve.gif
akirakay.gif
akirakayface.gif
akirakanedaface.gif
[/pre]

obivously doesn't provide the same thing with .gif transparancys, but worls for jpgs

Okay, the television show Andromeda has sunk below my ability to continue watching it, so Rommie is getting retired in favor of a newer AI from a much better series (and what's so wrong with an evil blonde replacing a good brunette anyway). Could one of the imagery wizards here take the following pic and shrink it down (and crop the sides/bottom a bit if needed) without it getting jagged? When I drop it down to about 73x73 it still looks okay, but at 70x70 it looks much worse, and I don't have any application besides Paint to work with.

Many thanks Reno, it looks great!

@fe3333au: Battlestar Galactica, she's a Cylon. Beats heck out of the '70s chromedome "by your command" types, don't you think? :D
