Hey :)

I have a AVI video (3 minutes/45 MB) that I want to Bink! for intro video, but when I do, I either get a HUGE Bik file (more than x5 of original AVI) or a VERY bad quality video. I have a feeling that I'm missing some key setting for the video to be good.

Anyone have experience in making a good Bik video without too much loss of quality or bloating filesize?

The default settings when using RAD Video Tools will always make huge files.

The compression rate really doesn't need to be as high as default, as far as I can tell. Try 125000 bytes.

yup, I also tried that (120.000) but size went to 90MB and quality sucks :(
What would be better : A highres lossless then downscale converted or a Lowres "1:1" conversion?

Does it have to be 3 minutes long?

sometimes there is no science and sometimes the process plays out like a slow moving and frustrating game.

I often use edit programs to downgrade the vid to the lowest file size by reducing the audio and video quality without noticing much quality degradation.

Using the video composer program try and limit the amount of colors used and keep the dimensions of the video smaller, while keeping the CIV aspect ratio.
