The last few MP games as the Aztecs I have not started next to a river or lake, which nerfs their UB, the primary reason I play them. Last game I started on a tight isthmus , started walking and there ended up being 2 city states on it as well so I could't even settle, even with the rivers I found. I kept walking, and 13 turns into the game I could finally settle, but there was no fresh water there either, I bit the bullet and started 13 turns late without being able to make my UB. That location was worse, and there wasn't even iron around.
That story sounds moronic of course, but it happened, as I have always been able to find fresh water in the first few turns... personally I think the floating gardens are OP if you have it at our capital, but nerfed if you don't, putting luck into the Aztec civ.
