This topic is for maps that have identical geography for each playable civ. Resources are provided.
While this would be ideal for multiplayer because of the reduced randomness, we'll have to wait for the ability to use custom maps in multiplayer.
There are two maps so far. The first is a duel map, with up to thirteen city states. The second is for eight playable civs and up to 28 city states.
You may want to check back periodically as I may post more maps.
Notes:
I have played through both maps and made improvements based on the experience.
The duel map is resource-heavy, but there is not a lot of land. I designed it for three civs originally, but the game won't allow more than two with this map size, so I added more city states.
For the large map with eight civs, you may want to turn off barbarians because large maps take a very long time to move through, even if you have the Great Lighthouse, and they will continue to spawn. The AI doesn't yet do a good job of clearing barbarians, especially on/across water.
For the large map, I suggest using all eight civs, because each civ shares a continent with another. I also suggest using all of the city states to prevent holes from appearing near some players' continents, giving them an advantage in territory, but that's a minor issue.
