i heard somewhere that all that was required for a the barb state to learn a tech was for 2 other civs to have the tech. this seems to be either not quite right or not relly accurate. is there anyone here to can expand on how this works?

The Barbarian civ gets some reasearch every turn towards any tech that:

1. It doesnt know.
2. Any other player does.

The amount of research it gains is based on how many players know that tech. So it can learn a tech that only one player knows, but it would take longer than learning a tech that 4 players know.

ok , so there is no way to really speed this up other then trading away all your tech.... hehe

Wait, so does the commerce flowing into barb cities from cottages and such have any effect on this at all?

also , i have been trying things and it does not seem to take into account npc knowledge , only PC ....... normal? is it much to ask about the code?
