I'm so impressed by this game. Story, voice acting, looks, gameplay, the works.. All top notch. I'm would struggle with pointing out any significant flaws with this game. Though i could probably name a few with some extreme nitpicking.

Gameplay is just great fun. I think i'm about halfway through the game now, and it's done really well with switching up the pace between stealth, fighting and platforming. Stealth gameplay especially is full of win, really makes you feel like batman.

Graphics, style and atmosphere have been given tons of care from the devs. It's built on the style of the comics, and not those silly modernish Christopher Nolan films. (booo!)

It's the best single player game i've played in a long time. Probably the best SP action game i've played ever.

Recommended! Here's hoping for some sort of sequel to this eventually.

Also: Zero Punctuation review :) (haven't seen this one yet in case of any spoilers..)

Yeah I really loved the voice acting in this game, as someone who grew up with the Animated Series and was obsessed with Batman around the ages of 3-5 years old I had a great time hearing Mark Hamill as the Joker.

Of course I also loved hearing a Batman who doesn't sound like he has throat cancer, the fact he was from the animated series was just a cherry on the cake :p

At this point, it easily has Game of the Year; and that's unheard of for a superhero game. Still need to go back and take out all those challenge maps to finish the game 100%

It was pretty good, but I don't see myself replaying anytime soon.

The good:
- Unarmed combat.
- "Predator" Combat.
- Voice Acting
- Gadgets

The bad:
- Boss fights
- Gimmick Enemies (The crazy people were ANNOYING)
- Detective Segments
- Limited Setting

The Meh:
- The story.

What really? I thought the combat was good but to simple, the stealth was still nothing compared to games that do it way better and the whole game was just kindov OK for me, nothing great but not bad either. It had an amazing amount of polish to, which is always a huge plus for me, and seeing as how I watched the animated series when I was a kid, the characters voices all finally felt "right" for me, as opposed to the films. The camera was really annoying though, and the whole game felt a little cluttered with all the junk on the screen, and the stupid detective mode just shouldn't even be there, it just killed the atmosphere for me. Also, and I know this is minor, Batman was waaaaaaaaaaaayyyy to roided out for me, he was cartoonishly muscular whereas in the cartoon that this is all based and pulled from he was just chizzeled, not an arnold schwartzneger circa 1975. But overall it was good, and probably game of the year but only by severe lack of other good games throughout the year.

Pretty much agree with what Truronian said. Additionaly, combat felt very 'Prince of Persia: Sands of Time' to me - it was wonderful to watch, but I never felt like I was doing much beyond waiting for the 'counter' cue. Detective mode was a bit silly too - activate it and look around a bit until you find the right thing.

It was a very good game, and I really enjoyed playing it. Hell, I'm buying an X-Box because of it :)

That was my main beef though, the combat, it was pretty, but it was two buttons.....

It also heavily involves direction. You can't just pummel on one guy without getting a pipe in the back. Plus later on you need to start using the dodge and stun buttons more. It was still fairly simple, but I don't see why that's a bad thing... I can't think of a way combos or QTEs or anything like that would have improved it.

The hand-to-hand combat was a big selling point for me. Like Truronian mentions, timing and direction is a key element in combat, while advanced button combos and QTE's is not present at all. I find it really makes for some fun and intuitive combat. At the beginning of the game it's fairly basic with just "strikes" and "counters", but it quickly gets more advanced as you get attacked by both knife wielding enemies who must be "stunned" or attacked from the rear, and guns wielding ones.

The counter combat reminds me of Assassins Creed. Twenty guys? No problem...just hit the counter button at the right time and you will gut them all like fish.

I totally loved Assassin's Creed.

Pipe in the back? What?Just hit the counter button.

It doesn't work if you're in the process of countering/hitting someone.

You know Kan, you can get this on PC far less than the price of an X-box.

On a side note: Poison Ivy is a right stunner in this game, amirite!?

As far as looks go, she's definitely my new favourite video game loveliness. :yumyum:
