Just had to post this. This is my first time getting my SSC over 1000 beakers per turn. My previous record was in the high-800's (with an Aggressive/Charismatic leader).

You can't tell, but there are 20 scientist specialists running in the city along with the others which you can see: 22 GS's and an assortment of other great dudes that I had no use for. Imagine if they were all GS's!

The city has:

  • Library
  • Observatory
  • University
  • Laboratory
  • Academy
  • Oxford University
  • National Epic
  • Cereal Mills
Civics were:

  • Representation
  • Bureaucracy
  • Caste System
  • Environmentalism
  • Free Religion

Grand Total of Beakers: 1242 per turn with science slider at 0%.

I was using Lincoln on a Noble Fractal map and I straight up spanked the AI while trying to play as peacefully as possible. I TORE through the tech tree up until the industrial age, but even after the benefits of biology settled in, once i was in the modern age, my tech pace picked up again.

I'm pretty sure its possible to get over 1500 per turn if you play carefully with a philosophical leader and you get access to lots of rice/fish/clams/corn, etc. to take advantage of corporations. I played peacefully and managed to get +6 food from the resources just on my continent (including the food resources from my vassals ;) ). If I had warmongered, I could have had a lot more food. Also, I ended up with far too many non GS's which don't do as well for the SSC. Anyhow, the game ended with a space race win in 1967.

But it makes me wonder: what's the highest possible beakers per turn you can get in any one city?
