Becoming the AIs vassal?

Ive never had the opportunity to become a vassal state of another nation. The option is never highlighted when im nearly conquered or friendly with a much larger civ. Is it at all possible? Its a shame if it isnt because ide love to know what its like( just for the challenge of trying to get out of it) and am starting to wonder if its possible to become the AIs vassal at all. So. is it possible?

Nope, it's not possible to become the AI's vassal. I don't know about becoming another human player's vassal though

You could go into world builder and put make yourself the AI's vassal under the diplomacy option. Interesting idea...

It's possible to be another humans vassal. I think you have to be smaller though. That might be why it didnt work to become the AI's vassal.
