Best Civilization

china is my favorite i like the cho ko nu
that can attack twice and take city's down with a few and one attacker

I love Arabia because I love trading. also Persians, Babylon, Ottomans my other favourite Civs.

I would like to know what is the best civlization for Civ 5? And plz go easy on me. I am new.

Strictly answering to the TC:

Well, without complicating things too much and being new: Ethiopia hands down. Easy religion, bonus vs bigger civs. Great for first games, quite adaptable Civ, and nothing really out of the standard.

For newbies, I'd recommend Egypt. It has an excellent, easily spammable UU, a UB that makes managing happiness for large empires a breeze, and building wonders is cake. Try them out, I guarantee you'll find them strong :) They certainly aren't the best for advanced players, but for newbies, they can't be beaten.

I don't think any of the civs are so much better or worse than average that you won't be able to succeed with one.

You should play a game and think about your play-style and what you enjoyed doing most: and then find a civilization that focuses on it.

There are many types of civs and multiple ways to play some of them.

I'd recommend looking through what each of the unique attributes of the civilizations do to find what fits you.

Don't forget to read the what the uniques beyond the unique abilities do: for some civs they are just as or more important than their unique ability.

My personal favorites are Byzantium for adaptability and a religion heavy game, Spain for the thrill of exploring and holding distant lands, and the Netherlands because I like their powerful tile-specific unique improvement.

I am with Tomtom regarding Egypt. I always found happiness a problem and consequently was stunted with my growth. The Burial Tomb of Egypt is excellent with its extra happiness. I don't tend to go for early wars so with said tomb I can expand more rapidly and start my domination quest later in the game.
