Best Earth map?

I'm looking for a huge map of the earth, but there seem to be quite a few. What's generally regarded as the most complete, large (extra large? Looking for countries to be more than one city large) map?

Before you go for these extra large be aware that they are HUGE.. and require a lot more power to run (ram, processor etc.)

6 gigs of ram, 1 gig video card should be OK, no?

My buddy's laptop probably wouldn't like it, but I can keep the map for single player games.

It's not ram and video card only that take the strain of large maps, put the processor too.

I like Hormigas's Map Pack - can't find the download link now, but I got it from the Steam workshop. It's massive (bigger than the current biggest map in CIV), with accurate start places for all civs and hand-placed realistic resources...me likey

So far works OK on my Laptop, 6GB Ram, 2GB video card, core i7 quad - but I've not yet reached the later stages when the world gets full of things to process
