Hi all,

which leaders would you play against to get a rather peaceful game?

So far, I found the following leaders to be pretty peaceful:
India (both Asoka and Ghandi)
Persia (Cyrus)
Mali (Mansa Musa)

I also found they seem to be stronger, score-wise, than the others.

"maybe" leaders:

America (I believe both, but I haven't played Roosevelt yet)
Egypt?
England (Elisabeth)?
Germany (Frederick)?
Russia?

What do you think?

you said "maybe both" American leaders so i'm guessing you don't mean BtS where there are 3. if that's the case, this chart might be helpful, it shows the Warlords leaders. i don't know of a similar chart for BtS or vanilla, i don't know of any changes from vanilla for those guys on this list.

for the most peaceful game, pick only leaders that have a 0 on that tree for "war pleased". vicky's low on the list, but she'll come at you even when she's pleased. folks like gandhi and asoka won't.

Hatshepsut is pretty easy to get along with. I can't stand Washington he always seems to invade me when I am low in military and trying to win a space race or cultural victory (basically when that's the only option left, he always seems to ruin it).

Gandhi nabs all the wonders so he might not be such a great idea,

Cyrus isn't bad as long as he dislikes someone more than you I find. He's pretty good for tech trades and stuff.

In my last game Wang Kon was quite a good tech trader and didn't cause any trouble.

Mansa is always a bit dangerous to have in becasue if he is far away he just runs away with the game I find. EDIT: Which leads to "Mansa must DIE!!!" syndrome, but everyone else thinks he's lovely so you have to take him on on your own, and then nobody likes you.

Egypt (both), Netherlands and Qin Shi Huang are my favourites for peaceful games.
