Better AI and spies

We know that in CIV4 and Warlords, AI is not capable to use these units well, this is also why espionage is so underpowered in these games.
I wonder if there is any plan in future to improve AI toward using spies in particular when there is a Space Race or for late game wars when destroying a strategic resource can make the difference.
So is it out of the scope of the mod?
 
I've noticed that whenever I got a hostile AI, I'll get my resources trashed regardless of what victory I'm heading for. Directing the AI to use its spies in a spoiler fashion (i.e., "Friendly" relations, but sees that you're about to finish the spaceship,) I think is not within the scope of Better AI.....
 
I think marioflag is right - the use of spies is another issue next to the use of forts (or actually lack thereof). Firaxis failed at teaching the AI to use some features of Civ, I'm convinced Blake and Iustus are able to do it. The AI should use any means to prevent another civ from winning if it's about to win - including a massive nuclear attack, if it's the only way to make sure the opponent will not win. A spy is a softcore means, it's just about the intelligence that the AIs lacked, but should not lack anymore thanks to this project.

Has to be a combination of worse enemy/bad-personality/agressive-AI-on to get on you because of that..Right?

I agree, a Civ that you've worked hard to maintain good relations with all game shouldn't nuke you just because you are about to win. A friendly Civ probably should not use spies either, but maybe a pleased one with a chance to win could? I'm not sure where to draw the line here...
 
I don't agree that improving the AI so it knows how and when to use a spy goes beyond the scope of this project, but it's not my decision. A spy is a tool that the human player has, the AI should have it and know how to use it as well.

It may be beyond the scope of the 1.0 release of better AI. Changing what a spy is capable of doing is definitely beyond the scope as I understand it...
