Beyond Earth Strategic View?

I was wondering about whether or not Civ: Beyond Earth will have the strategic view option similar to that in civ 5? I find it much easier to get information from it and it also runs better on my fairly low end laptop. Really hoping its there, super excited for this game!

Me too.
But I must say its a clever way to use a second layer of what was essentially a way to play CiV on lower graphics.

So what exactly is orbital layer? Not really been researching too much about the game, want to be surprised when I get it. Is it like the strategic view where replaces the fancy view if you want or is it only at specific sections of the game?

Its been said it is a "map" above the normal terrain map where players and AI factions can "launch" satellites in for a number of turns.

Oh so it isn't actually a separate view? Instead it is above the rest of the map. Interesting

There's been no screenshots of the orbital layer yet, so we don't know.
It was explicitedly called a 'layer' though.
