I have been having trouble getting Beyond the Sword to load fully, and was hoping someone here might have some ideas.
I purchased the Civilization IV Complete package from Stardock, and downloaded it with their "Impulse" program. Civilization IV, Warlords and Colonization all work O.K. Beyond the Sword however will not load. When I go to start up Beyond the Sword it begins to load but when it gets to the Init Engine portion of the load sequence It produces an error message that reads failed to initialize primary control theme. After closing that message I immediately receive a second error message reading error loading shader libraries. When I close this message the game loading box also closes.
My operating system is Windows XP, and have directx 9c. I have contacted Take 2 technical support, but they have so far been unresponsive (after about 10 days). I would be grateful for any assistance that anyone can give me, and truly appreciate that people on this forum are willing to take the time and energy to help out others.
